A stopwatch is used for timing workouts, cooking, study sessions, and any task where you need to know how long something took. A timer is the reverse: you set a time, and it counts down to zero. Having both in one tool means you do not need a separate app for each, and laps let you record split times without stopping the main clock.
For a countdown, set the time before you start, because starting and then changing the time will reset the countdown in most cases. For laps, record each lap as it happens, rather than trying to remember split times afterwards.
Privacy: this tool runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no signup, and your files never leave your device.
Two clock jobs in one — measure time with the stopwatch (with laps), or set a countdown timer that makes a sound when the time runs out.
How to use Stopwatch & Timer
- Choose stopwatch or timer mode.

Frequently asked questions
How do I use the stopwatch with laps?
Start the stopwatch, then press lap each time you want to record a split time. The main clock keeps running, and each lap time is recorded separately, so you can compare splits afterwards.
How do I set a countdown timer?
Switch to timer mode, set the time you want to count down from, and start it. The timer will count down to zero, and you can pause or reset it if you need to change the time.
Will the stopwatch keep running if I switch tabs?
Timing in a browser tab can be affected if the tab is put to sleep by the browser, especially on a phone. For critical timing, keep the tab open and visible, and check the time when you return to it.
Is anything I time uploaded or saved?
No. Timing happens in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved after you close the page.
