Color Picker

Color Picker lets you pick a colour and get its HEX, RGB and HSL codes, free and in your browser. You choose a colour, and the codes update so you can copy them into a design, a website, or a document.

Colours are identified by codes, not just by names, and different tools expect different codes. A website stylesheet usually wants HEX, a design tool may want RGB, and a colour adjustment may be easier in HSL. This tool gives all three at once, so you do not have to convert between them yourself. It also shows a set of ready colours to start from if you do not have a specific colour in mind.

Copy the code exactly, including the # at the start of a HEX code, because a missing # is a common reason a colour does not work in a stylesheet. If you are matching a brand colour, compare the picked colour on the screen you will actually use it on, because screens show colours slightly differently.

Privacy: this tool runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no signup, and your files never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?

HEX is a short code for a colour, such as #0D7377. RGB describes it by red, green and blue amounts. HSL describes it by hue, saturation and lightness, which is useful when you want a lighter or darker version of the same colour.

Why does my colour look different on another screen?

Screens vary in brightness and colour settings, so the same code can look slightly different on different devices. For brand work, check the colour on the device and in the light where it will actually be seen.

Can I enter a HEX code I already have?

Yes. Type or paste the HEX code and the tool will show the matching RGB and HSL values, so you can use the colour in a tool that expects a different format.

Is anything I pick uploaded or saved?

No. Colour picking happens in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved after you close the page.
