PDF Merge

PDF Merge joins several PDF files into one single PDF, in order, in your browser and free. You add the files, arrange them in the order you want, and download one combined PDF.

Merging is useful whenever a document is split across files: a form and its supporting pages, several chapters, or scanned pages that arrived separately. Sending one combined file is simpler for the person receiving it, and it keeps the pages in the order you intend. Because the merge happens locally, the contents of your documents are not sent to a server, which matters for forms and personal records.

Check the order before you merge, because fixing the order afterwards means merging again. Add the files in the order you want them to appear, and remove any file you added by mistake before you press merge. If a file is very large, merging may take a few seconds — wait for the download rather than pressing the button twice.

Privacy: this tool runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no signup, and your files never leave your device.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I merge PDFs in a different order?

Yes. Add the files in the order you want them to appear in the final PDF. If you add them in the wrong order, remove them and add them again in the correct order before merging.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

There is no fixed number in the tool itself, but very large files or a very large number of files will take longer and use more memory in your browser. For a normal set of documents, merging a handful of files works smoothly.

Will merging change the pages inside my PDFs?

No. Merging only joins the files in order. It does not change the text, images or layout of the pages themselves. If you need to rotate or delete pages, use the PDF Rotate or PDF Page Delete tools first.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server when I merge them?

No. The merge is done in your browser, so the files never leave your device. Nothing is stored by ToolNest after you close the page.
