The Word Counter counts words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences and paragraphs in any text, live as you type — and estimates reading time and speaking time. Writers, students and video creators use it to hit a length target without counting by hand.
How is speaking time calculated?
From an average speaking pace, which is slower than silent reading. It is an estimate for planning — a 1,000-word script lands near 6–8 minutes of narration for most speakers, and your own pace may vary a little.
Does it count words in Hindi or other languages?
Yes — it counts word-separated text in any language, including Hindi. Character counts include all characters, and the reading-time estimate is a general average for any language.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. The Word Counter is completely free, needs no account and nothing to install — it runs in your browser, and anything you type stays on your device.
