The Image Rotate & Flip tool fixes photos that came out sideways or upside down, and can mirror a photo horizontally or vertically. Scanned documents and selfies from some phones regularly open at the wrong angle — this puts them right in a couple of clicks.
What is the difference between rotate and flip?
Rotating turns the whole photo like a steering wheel — use it when the photo is sideways or upside down. Flipping mirrors it — use it when text reads backwards (common with front-camera selfies) or for a design effect.
Why did my photo open sideways at all?
Phones often store a rotation note (EXIF orientation) instead of actually turning the pixels, and some apps ignore that note. Rotating here bakes the correct direction into the file itself, so it opens properly everywhere.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The Image Rotate & Flip runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and is never sent to ToolNest or anywhere else. Close the tab and everything is cleared.
