The Image Resize tool changes the dimensions of a photo — you can type an exact width and height in pixels, or scale the whole image by a percentage. It is the tool you need when a website demands an exact size, like a 1280×720 YouTube thumbnail or a square profile photo, and your image is too big or the wrong shape.
Will resizing reduce the quality of my photo?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp; making it much bigger than the original can look soft, because the tool cannot invent detail that is not there. A modest enlargement up to about 150% usually still looks acceptable.
What is the aspect-ratio lock for?
With the lock ON, changing the width adjusts the height automatically so the photo keeps its shape. Turn it OFF only when you deliberately want to stretch the image to an exact width and height.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The Image Resize runs entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and is never sent to ToolNest or anywhere else. Close the tab and everything is cleared.
